Cookie Policy
Last updated: July 8, 2026
This page explains how Tally uses cookies and similar technologies (like localStorage) on tally.ac. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy — read that for the bigger picture on personal data.
01What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a site stores on your device so it can remember you between page loads and visits. “Similar technologies” means things like localStorage and sessionStorage that do the same job in your browser. We use the word “cookies” to cover both.
02Categories we use
Tally uses three categories, and you're in control of two of them.
- Essential. Required to run the site — keeping you signed in, remembering your cookie choices, and protecting against abuse. These can't be turned off because the product wouldn't work without them.
- Analytics. Aggregate, privacy-friendly usage stats so we can see which features are useful and where people get stuck. Off by default until you accept.
- Marketing. Helps us measure ad campaigns and show more relevant Tally content off-site. Off by default until you accept.
03Cookies we set
| Name | Category | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Essential | Keeps you signed in. | Session / up to 1 year |
| tally_cookie_consent_v2 | Essential | Remembers your cookie choices. | 1 year |
| __cf_bm, cf_clearance | Essential | Cloudflare bot and abuse protection. | Up to 30 min / 30 days |
| __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid | Essential | Fraud prevention on checkout (set by Stripe). | 30 min / 1 year |
| _pa_*, _plausible | Analytics | Aggregate product and page analytics. | Up to 1 year |
| _fbp, _gcl_au | Marketing | Ad-campaign measurement (only if you opt in). | Up to 90 days |
Exact names and lifetimes may change slightly as vendors update their SDKs. This table is refreshed when we notice a material change.
04Changing your mind
You can change your cookie choices any time — accept analytics today, reject them tomorrow. Use the button below, or the “Cookie preferences” link in the site footer.
You can also block or delete cookies at the browser level — every major browser has instructions in its Help menu. If you block essential cookies the site won't work properly.
05Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
There is still no shared industry standard for “Do Not Track” signals, so Tally does not respond to them. Where required by law we will honour recognised opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control by treating them as a request to reject non-essential cookies.
06More information
For details on the personal data behind these cookies, our legal basis, and your rights, see our Privacy Policy. Business customers should also read our Data Processing Addendum.
